Drawing on the experience it gained in handling its own photo archive, the Federico Zeri Foundation is frequently involved in courses and conferences on the subject of photo archives. It offers consultancy to institutions intending to embark on management and upgrade projects with their own collections.

Since 2016 collaboration has been in progress with the Licia and Carlo Ludovico Ragghianti Art Study Centre Foundation in Lucca, which possesses an archive of nearly 200,000 photo images. The Federico Zeri Foundation has provided its scientific know how to launch a project for re-ordering, cataloguing and upgrading the Lucca archive. This has  given rise to a photograph catalogue accesible from the Fondazione Ragghianti  website. The database, created by the firm IDS&Unitelm, who also made the Federico Zeri Foundation’s software, contains images from the sections  "contemporary art", "renaissnce and modern art", medieval art", and "miniatures".

Since 2019, the Zeri Foundation has been curating some projects dedicated to the I.B. Supino Photo Archive's collections owned by the Biblioteca delle Arti-Bologna University: The enhancement of the Supino Photo Archive and The restoration of the Croci Archive.
The photographs from this two collections have been integrated into the Foundation online catalogue and linked to entries on artworks already documented in the Foundation Photo Archive.
