In the early months of 2018, at the behest of the Carl-Heinz & Helga Kliemann Foundation, and of Carlotta Fonzi, the copious library of Julian Kliemann (1949-2015) was donated to the Federico Zeri Foundation. Historian of art, professor at the University of Münster, in his time a researcher at Villa I Tatti and at the Bibliotheca Hertziana, Kliemann was one of the leading specialists in iconographic Renaissance studies.
Over 1,900 volumes belonging to the scholar are now integrated into the Zeri Library and available for consultation.
In addition to volumes on art history, primarily concerning the Italian and foreign Renaissance, ancient sources, iconographic studies, and the connection between literature and the figurative arts, the collection is enriched with photographic material and various research documentation.
