In 2008 the Federico Zeri Foundation came by a collection of 300 stereoscopies donated by Ruth Jones, a teacher of English who has settled in Bologna. They come from her father Norman Jones's collection which was largely made up of eastern art and Japanese prints.

This is a homogeneous group of albumen and silver print stereoscopies dating from the turn of the 19th century and produced by European and North American photographic studios (a large number from the firm of Works and Studios).

They mainly show landscapes, monuments and townscapes in France, Great Britain, Italy, Switzerland, the USA and Egypt. Human figures appear in 88 of them and some show episodes from the Boer War in South Africa.

The donation came complete with a stereoscope viewer from the same epoch.
